Peer Review Process
AJBS applies a structured and integrity-driven peer-review process designed to ensure scientific rigor and clinical relevance in the field of dental and biomedical sciences.
Editorial Pre-Assessment
Each submission is initially evaluated by a Section Editor to determine:
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Scientific soundness
- Compliance with submission standards
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are declined without external review.
External Review
Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
AJBS operates a double-anonymized review system to ensure impartial evaluation.
Reviewers are asked to assess:
- Scientific validity and methodological consistency
- Relevance to current clinical or research challenges
- Contribution to existing literature
- Clarity and organization of the manuscript
Editorial Decision-Making
Decisions are made based on a synthesis of reviewer feedback and editorial judgment, prioritizing scientific integrity over volume of publication.
Timelines
The journal aims to complete the review process within a reasonable academic timeframe, typically within 4–6 weeks.
